Our Shipping Container Test System Just Got Its Second Turbine

Hi guys, we decided to do a quick video update this week, as it’s a great way to give you an actual behind-the-scenes look at our shipping container setup for our ALPHA units, BOTH of which are now installed!

This setup will allow us to directly compare different scoop designs, generators, gear ratios, and electronic systems in real time, all with BETA installs in mind. This is a quick 5 minute VERY informative video. If you don’t have the time to watch, there’s a recap of the video at the bottom of this note.

Thanks for following our journey, supporting our mission, and helping us push small-scale wind energy forward.

Sincerely,
Chris & Cheryl and the Harmony Team

TLDR Video Summary:
Chris shares an update on Harmony Turbines’ new mobile ALPHA testing platform, featuring two turbines mounted side-by-side on a shipping container for real-time A-to-B testing. The setup allows the team to compare different turbine designs, generators, gear ratios, electronics, and battery configurations while rapidly making adjustments without rooftop installations. Current testing is being done in a temporary location with inconsistent wind, so results are not yet considered definitive. Once refined, the system will be moved to cleaner field locations and expand into upcoming BETA installations, including sites at Penn State Harrisburg, Penn State Berks, and private properties.
